This course will take place over two in-person sessions in February 2026 and September 2026 on the Stanford Campus in Palo Alto, CA

Course Description: A unique train-the-trainer faculty development program for physicians and/or advance practice providers who are committed communication educators—and want to become VitalTalk faculty! The program involves a 2 day face-to-face workshop, distance learning, and a consolidation 2 day face-to-face workshop. Upon completion of the course, you’ll be ready to teach and host a 1 day Mastering Tough Conversations communication course that focuses on skills for goals of care conversations using simulated patients. You need to commit to the entire program to attend.
Session 1: Palo Alto, CA Stanford campus the immersive course will be full days on 2/3/2026 and 2/4/2026 (plan for 8am-5pm).
Session 2: Palo Alto, CA Stanford campus the immersive course will be full days on 9/2/2026 and 9/3/2026 (plan for 8am-5pm).
Tuition Details: The total tuition includes both sessions, plus distance learning. In addition to the in-person courses and distance learning, this tuition includes all course materials, a faculty license agreement, course day breakfasts and lunches. 50% tuition is due upon registration for the course.
* Note: Course participants are responsible for their own travel and lodging (we will provide information on a preferred hotel in Palo Alot)
Course enrollment criteria:
1) Participants must currently hold an educational role at their institution that allows them to participate as faculty in communication skills courses.
2) Participants must be active clinicians.
3) Participants must have completed or be actively enrolled in a VitalTalk prerequisite communication skills course prior to registering for Faculty Development. (3+ hours including roleplay and following VitalTalk talking maps such as REMAP)
